Just before Christmas I received an email from the Cornwall Film Festival notifying me of their decision to present me with my very first film award for my contributions to Cornish Filmmaking. Reading the copy in the email felt like I was reading about somebody else.
Since moving to Cornwall just over a year ago I have been working non-stop on a variety of films with a humanitarian or conservation focus. I so often feel humbled by the people and the work I am capturing, and feel a huge responsibilty to do each and every story justice. This award goes some way in giving me the confidence that I am managing to translate those stories.
2016 begins with more incredible stories to tell. This week I am starting work on a film project documenting the amazing salvation and sanitation Cornwall is offfering for refugees, a new promo film for the Cornwall Butterfly Conservation, a collection of timelapse films for AptART, a pioneering Beaver project and much much more . . .
