In late spring 2013 I spent 6 weeks in Zaatari refugee camp documenting the incredible work of Arts Charity AptART. In this time, I met a wonderful young Syrian girl called Reema. Reema walked me roung the camp, introduced me to her family, invited me into her 'home' to eat and shared stories of her experiences in Syria that I will never forget. The lasting feeling I had when leaving the camp, despite the sadness of the situation so many of these families are still enduring, was a feeling of respect for the resilience, resourcelfuness and happiness so many of the refugees have managed to hold on to.
